Good News: Albany native wins gold medal in N.C. parachuting championship

RAEFORD, N.C. (WALB) - Chris Gay, an Albany native, won a gold medal in the 2-way canopy formation event at the U.S. Parachute Association National Parachuting Championships in Raeford, North Carolina.

The win earns him a spot on the U.S. Parachute Team, the nation’s most elite athletes, that will compete at the 2020 World Parachuting Championships.

Gay, 54, has won multiple national champion titles and holds multiple skydiving world records.
