UPDATE: Cherry Avenue homicide suspect must wait for bond

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Tre’Shawn Malik Smith, 19, has been charged in connection to the death of his cousin, Kawoski Newberry, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

Smith went before Judge Baxter Howell at the Dougherty County jail Wednesday morning for a first appearance and bond hearing, but murder suspects must appear before a Superior Court Judge for bond consideration.

Willie Mobley, 40, and Jacorie Mobley, 22, were previously charged in Newberry’s death.
