VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta City Council is considering ordinances for two new apartment complexes.
The ordinances are for a possible land zoning change and a planned development approval near the corner of Baytree Road and Azalea Drive.
The city expects that approval for the complex and the rezoning would result in 26 units on almost two acres of land.
Brian Salazar, a Valdosta State student, lives in the neighborhood and said he’s fine with the possible development, especially since there are other apartments nearby anyway.
“I mean, with the amount of complexes around here not being much of a disturbance, I don’t see why adding another one would increase that in any significant way," said Salazar.
Salazar said he thinks it would beneficial for students to have more housing options as well.
The city is set to put the items to a vote at the next council meeting on Thursday at City Hall.
