Update: Smithville 911 emergency lines back up

SMITHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - The E-911 lines in Smithville that were down are back up, according to Lee County officials.

The AT&T service issue in the Smithville area preventing residents from dialing 911 has been resolved. Residents in the Smithville area can now call 911 to reach emergency services.

WALB was told that AT&T notified the city of a network event that impacted the 911 emergency lines.

Residents can now call 911 again to reach emergency services.
