ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - It’s almost time for the start of a new school year.
The Georgia Department of Public Health urges parents to not wait until the last minute for required immunizations or exams.
All health departments in the public health district are ready with all vaccines your child may need through the age of 18.
For students entering the 7th grade in Georgia, Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines are required along with the HPV vaccine that is highly recommended.
For students 16-18, a second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine is also recommended.
Pre-K and kindergarten children will also need vision, hearing, dental and nutrition screenings.
No appointment is necessary for immunizations.
