ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Museum of Art (AMA) will be relocating to downtown Albany.

The museum will move to the old Belk building on West Broad Avenue.

The soon-to-be new addition to downtown comes after a generous donation from business owner, Bob Brooks.

The Cookie Shoppe has been in downtown for years and they say they are excited AMA is relocating.

Owner Mona Qaqish says it’s a great time to be working in downtown.

“We need to vitalize downtown, it needs it. We need to refurbish it and make it better because that is your central part of your small towns is your towns and this is what we need to do, I like it, I am not going anywhere. I will be right here," says Qaqish.

Qaqish has been working in downtown Albany since the 1980s and loves seeing the area grow.
