Officials urge drivers in Berrien Co. to avoid flooded roads

Flooding in Berrien Coffee Co.

BERRIEN CO., Ga. (WALB) - The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to avoid flooded roads caused by Tuesday’s rain.

Officials said people are asked to avoid the following areas if possible:

  • GA Hwy 125 between Nashville & Tift County Line has had most water over the roads.
  • GA Hwy 168 between Nashville & Highway 135 flooded

Sheriff Ray Paulk said that some county roads are also flooded.

Deputies are out working, trying to get traffic through the affected areas. However, Paulk said that drivers should use caution and that they should “turn around, don’t drown.”

Paulk also said that while deputies are out in the impacted areas, he urges you to avoid those roads if you can.

Coffee County officials are also urging people not to drive through any flooded roadways as heavy rains also hit that are as well on Tuesday.
