ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The director of the LilyPad SANE Center said they have heard a lot of outrage from the community over the abuse and death of Janiyah Brooks.
But leaders of South Georgia’s crisis and child advocacy center said they see child abuse cases everyday, and they hope the community outrage will make people take action to stop the abuse.
“So I hope that this outrage that this community is feeling doesn’t stop,” Mary Martinez, center director, said. “I hope that it continues. I hope that people will call and report something if they see something wrong.”
Martinez asks South Georgians to keep watch over children in the community.
If you see suspected abuse, you can call the Lily Pad at (229) 435-0074.
