Verdict handed down in Sylvester murder trial

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The man accused in a Sylvester home invasion that led to a man’s death was found not guilty, according to District Attorney J.D. Hart.

Eric Brown was acquitted on four charges, including felony murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.

BREAKING: Eric Brown found not guilty. Brown was one of three facing charges in the murder of Sylvester man Dontavious Rutland back in November 2016.

Brown was one of three facing charges in Dontavious Rutland’s death back in November 2016.

Brown’s defense said he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
