ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A 4-year-old was shot Thursday evening on Cleveland Street in Albany, according to police.
APD updated the information Friday to say that Jerry Davis III, 4, and and his cousin, Nayvadius Barkley, 5, were inside the residence playing, when they found a semi-automatic handgun.
As they were taking the gun to an adult, the gun accidentally discharged, and Davis was struck in the shoulder.
Two adults in the home were sleeping.
The little boy was initially transported to Phoebe, but later transported to a hospital in Macon for further observation. No charges have been filed.
This is a developing story and we will update as more information becomes available.
