ANDERSONVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - If you’ve been looking for a place to buy local products near the Andersonville area, you won’t have to search much longer.
This Saturday is the grand opening of the new Andersonville Farmers Market.
The farmers market will feature fresh, local food along with other homemade items.
One of the organizers said there is a need for this market in the community.
“Andersonville is a food desert. We don’t have a gas station, we don’t have a red light. We have a little restaurant, we have a museum, we have a little antique store,” said farmers market organizer Audra Warren.
The farmers market will be open every Saturday from 7 a.m. until around lunchtime.
They will also be open Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It will be located at the Easterlin Bandstand in downtown.
