CRISP CO., Ga. (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office continues to morn the loss of Roscoe, their 4-year-old Bloodhound K-9 Officer.
In memory of Roscoe, the sheriff's office received a special gift from a Colorado Girl Scout Troop.
They received a star from Troop 63979 to remember the fallen K-9.
The star was a part of a retired American Flag.
Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock said receiving this gift means a lot to the department.
“To find a group of that age that take on a project that means so much to law enforcement, to family and to the agency, is really unique in today’s time," said Sheriff Hancock.
This gift is part of the troop's Stars for Heroes program.
The girls recently sent out around 500 stars as part of the program.
According to the sheriffs office, Roscoe died last week from natural causes.
