1 injured in South Albany shooting

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One person was injured after a Tuesday late night shooting in South Albany, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

APD said a man was shot in the arm and the suspect is still on the loose Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened Tuesday night in the 1700 block of W. Lincoln Avenue when multiple shots were fired into a car with three men inside.

The car, a Ford Taurus, was shot at multiple times, according to an APD incident report. Another car, a Nissan Sentra, was also shot at.

Police made contact with the three that were sitting in the car.

The person shot “refused to answer any questions about who may have shot at him,” the report stated. He was taken to Phoebe Main for treatment.

A house in the 1700 block W. Lincoln Ave. had four gunshots, according to the incident report.

Suspect description has not been released but APD said they will be facing aggravated assault charges..

WALB spoke with one man who wanted to remain anonymous.

He said he hears gun shots every other day, but his home is protected.

“I put up storm lights, cameras and... I’m packing,” said one resident.
