VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The Valdosta Police Department has issued an alert for a man they want in connection to a stabbing that happened about 6:00 Sunday evening.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Hudson Street, in reference to a fight between family members. They found a man who was suffering from a stab wound to his neck.
They began performing lifesaving first aid until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services, who took him to a hospital.
Multiple police division were aided by witnesses and Morris Jerome Thompson was identified as a suspect.
Detectives have an arrest warrant for Thompson for aggravated assault. He should be considered armed and dangerous, and, if anyone sees him, do not approach him, but call 911.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family involved in this incident. On a day when mothers are to be celebrated, unfortunately, this family had to be part of a violent incident that did not need to occur,” said Chief Leslie Manahan.
The unidentified victim is listed in critical condition at this time.
