Leesburg woman receives tops honors at VSU graduation

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -One Leesburg woman wants to further her education even after receiving top honors at graduation.

Amanda Miller receives the Spring 2019 President’s Award for academic excellence for the college of Science and Mathematics at Valdosta State University.

The award is given to the student with the highest grade point average from each of VSU’s six colleges.

She plans to continuing furthering her education even after receiving her diploma.

Miller says “Imma start applying to PA schools and also applying for a navy scholarship with PA.”

Graduation was held Saturday night at 7 pm.

Miller says she was excited and “nervous I have to walk with the banner in wedges and that’s gonna be a little difficult but a little nervous.”

She plans to become a physicians assistant in the United States Navy.
