CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its most loyal officers.
Roscoe, a 4-year-old Bloodhound K-9 officer, died unexpectedly of natural causes, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
Roscoe began working for the sheriff’s office in 2015.
“K9 Roscoe was a vital member of Crisp County Sheriff’s Office K9 Tactical Tracking Team as he worked to locate offenders of various crimes as well as missing children and endangered missing adults,” the Crisp Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook. “In addition to law enforcement duties, K9 Roscoe was involved in community, church and school safety programs.”
Roscoe was “always eager” to help teach the youth and how to stay safe and make the best decisions, the sheriff’s office posted.
“He always loved the hugs and pats from children and, of course, the ‘peanut butter and jelly’ treats,” the post stated.
