Semi-truck driver crashes into Americus houses after another driver fails to yield
A semi-truck ran into two Americus homes Thursday after a vehicle pulled out in front of the driver, according to GSP.

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - A semi-truck driver ran into two Americus homes Thursday and now another driver is facing several charges.

The suspect was driving on Starlight Circle around 12:20 p.m. when Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said he failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign.

Troopers said the suspect pulled out onto US-19, forcing a semi-truck driver to use an evasive maneuver to avoid a crash.

According to GSP, the semi-truck driver then hit two trees and two homes on Starlight Circle and the other driver left the scene.

An Americus Fire Department report stated that no one was home when the truck crashed into the houses. The report also said that damage from the crash caused water system leaks and crews turned the water off to the house.

The suspect was later pulled over by the Americus Police Department and has been charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
