CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - A South Georgia county is making sure people are prepared for the upcoming hurricane season.
Crisp County will continue to post tips on Facebook all week long.
This week is National Hurricane Preparedness Week across the country.
According to the Crisp County Sheriff's Office, Hurricane Michael damaged nearly 900 homes in the county.
Some people were without power for around two weeks.
“Just because we’re not, here in Cordele, on the coastline, that citizens should not remain vigilant and should not remain cautious and that they should prepare,” said Haley Little with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
Little also said that everyone should have a preparedness kit ready to go.
Hurricane season begins June 1.
