Suspect identified in Sylvester J & J Grocery shooting

Sylvester Shooting Update

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Police have identified a suspect after several shots were fired outside a Sylvester convenience store.

No one was hurt, but many were questioned after nearly a dozen shots were fired at J & J Grocery store on March 27.

Sylvester police identified Tirei Jefferson, 26, as the shooting suspect.

This comes over a month after police first said they believed a fight involving about 11 men broke out in front of the store.

The store and some cars outside took some damage.

Police are still trying to track down Jefferson.

“He did not have a local address on all the information that we have, we have an address down in Florida and suspect that he is no longer, at least, in the Sylvester area,” said Detective Jonathon McDaniel with the Sylvester Police Department .

No arrests have been made in this case at this time.

Police are also looking for 10 other men involved with the shooting.
