THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - It was an exciting time to be a Nighthawk this past weekend.
The Thomas University baseball team took home their first Sun Conference title in program history.
Now the Nighthawks are getting ready for the National tournament.
The Nighthawks defied the odds in the conference tournament.
They took down the number one ranked Southeastern Fire, and cruised all the way to history.
Now the Nighthawks are getting ready for the post season, and are ready for the next challenge.
“For the guys to go out and execute a plan, and do the things that they are suppose to do and execute a plan," said head baseball coach Randy Adams. "And just play the game the way it’s suppose to be played and come out successful, shows them that they don’t have to do anything extraordinary to win baseball games.”
“I mean it was great,"said Senior short stop Chase Hinson. "First time in team history that we’ve ever been this far. First one we’ve ever won. So that was something special.”
The Nighthawks will start their national tournament run on Monday.
