Lady Knights lead the charge for GISA

Deerfield-Windsor Girls soccer finds themselves in fifth straight Final Four

Deerfield ready for Mercer

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Deerfield-Windsor Lady Knights are continuing their charge towards the title.

Now getting ready for the semi-finals at Mercer, the Knights hope to find themselves there in the finals.

The semi-finals is no stranger to the Lady Knights.

Deerfield has found themselves in the Final Four round for the last five years.

But winning their first state title last year, the Knights know the road will only be tougher the farther they go starting with Holy Spirit.

“I think the key right now is going to be the experience that we may have over Holy Spirit,"said head soccer coach Aly Joslin. "They haven’t been there for a couple of years and we’ve got some older players and we have the ability to do that. We’ve got a good mixture of the younger ones too.”

“Just stay focused and stay calm," said Senior team captain Bernadette Takash. "Make sure that we really put the work in these last few days of practice.”

“Hard work, determination, some good coaching, and some good like team leadership," said Senior midfielder Carson Chandler. "For us to come together and work our hardest.”

The Knights will face Holy Spirit on Friday at 11 A.M. at Mercer.
