South Slappey armed robbery

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An armed robbery happened at a business on South Slappey late Tuesday night, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

A man wearing blue jeans, a black and gray jacket and a mask entered the Fairway Store at 518 South Slappey Boulevard, armed with a handgun, according to APD’s report.

In their report, Albany police said that the victim reported the suspect ran up to the counter, pointed a handgun at the store employees and customers, while demanding money.

The victim opened the cash register and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash. The criminal took the money and left the store running northbound.

Officers canvassed the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful in locating him. There is video surveillance of this armed robbery. The case was turned over to investigations, APD said.
