VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Imagine sitting a restaurant, hoping to enjoy your meal, when a man exposes himself to your children.
Milton Jenkins, 54, of Lakeland was charged with two counts of felony child molestation and one count public indecency after reports that he exposed himself to multiple children under the age of 10 at a Valdosta Wendy’s.
“Those cases take very high priority. Again, there’s no place for it. There’s no place for it in the City of Valdosta to have those crimes against children or the elderly," Lt. Adam Bembry, Valdosta Police Department spokesperson, said.
When officers responded to scene the suspect had left the area.
Jenkins was later identified and arrested by the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office on May 3.
WALB reached out to Wendy’s corporate for comment, who said that most of these stores are individually owned.
WALB also reached out to the restaurant’s management who have not returned a request for comment at this time.
The investigation is still on going and further charges may be pending.
“I am so proud of the work by our detectives who continued to follow leads and go through evidence on this case, to ensure that this offender was apprehended quickly so he could not victimize any other children,” Leslie Manahan, Valdosta police chief, said.
