Bobcats’ tennis is ready for first state title match

Early County reaches first state finals in school history

Early County set for first final appearance

BLAKELY, GA (WALB) - Over the last three years, the Early County boys tennis team has seen some of the most successful seasons in program history.

Now the Bobcats are heading to Rome, for their first state finals appearance.

The Bobcats have come close to this milestone in the past.

But this will be their first crack at the state title.

It's been a while since Early County has been able to bring home a state title.

The Boys are hoping they can bring glory, back to Blakely.

“We are extremely proud," said head boys tennis coach Angela Bell. "They usually tell one or both of us that you can not cry until the match is over. They have worked so hard and have such great drive and work ethic 365 days out of the year. They don’t play tennis seasonally.”

The Bobcats will take on Rockmart on May 4th.

Hoping we will have a new state champion in South Georgia.
