TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The verdict in the trial for the man charged with murder in a 2016 death in Tifton was handed down Thursday afternoon.
Jerome Jackson was found guilty on all four counts.
Jackson was charged with malice and felony murder, aggravated assault and first degree home invasion in the death of Odell Chaney, 53, of Tifton.
Sentencing is set for May 16 at the Tift County Jail.
The trial began Monday.
Several witnesses took the stand Wednesday to tell jurors what they said Jackson told them privately just days before Chaney’s death.
Jackson and his attorney claimed self-defense in the 2016 incident.
