Hornets looking to add another state title banner to the wall

Won back-to-back region titles but looking for first state title since 2000

Hornets set for second round

ADEL, GA (WALB) - The Cook Hornets baseball team has done a lot over the last two years.

Claiming back to back region titles and reaching the elite eight last season.

But the Hornets say, they aren’t finished, with their mission quite yet.

As the Hornets get ready for the second round of the playoffs on Thursday.

Cook looks to build off their success, from the regular season.

Looking to hang their first state championship banner, since 2000.

With only 4 seniors and 12 freshman on the team, the Hornets could be in a position of power for a while.

“Oh yeah the future’s definitely bright here," said senior right fielder Ethan Folsom. "There’s definitely a chance here that we could hang up two more here in the next two years and go further then the elite eight, if not further every year.”

“Hoping to leave them, just to know that just like this year," said senior pitcher Brock Revels, "that everything wasn’t just handed to us like it was last year. That you’re going to have to face adversity and you’re going to have to overcome it.”

The Hornets will face Southeast Bulloch on Thursday at 4:30 P.M.
