ASU takes the one seed in SIAC tournament

Rams are hosting the SIAC tournament for the second consecutive year

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It was about this time last year, when the ASU baseball team tore through the conference tournament and won the title.

Now, it’s time for a repeat.

Same as last, the Rams are hosting the conference tournament, hoping it will result in the same ending.

The Rams swept Spring Hill over the weekend to take the one seed.

Now the Rams are hoping they have what it takes to take the title.

“I’m just thrilled to death," said ASU head baseball coach Scot Hemmings. "I mean if you look at something that we’ve done around here, five straight regular season titles. Two at Darton and then two eastern division conference. That’s almost unheard of. That means you’re the best team all year during regular season play. Anything can happen in the tournament. But what we’re doing around here is just magnificent.”

The Rams will begin their road to the title on Thursday.
