LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - The Lee County baseball team knew it was going to be a tough road in the playoffs, being seeded at number 4.
But after taking care of business at Stephenson, the Trojans are ready for round 2.
The Trojans defeated Stephenson in game three 8-0.
Lee County was able to swing past the number 1 seeded Jaguars, with the same force that’s helped carry them all season, their defense.
Now just one step closer to the state title, the Trojans are ready for the next challenge.
“Well it’s extremely tough to be on the road all the time," said Lee County head baseball coach Brian Trivette. "You know, it’s testing season, so a lot of that is going on. A lot of the kids are having to do that stuff. Also stay focused and also going and playing difficult competition on the road. Which isn’t easy, but at the same time we’re going to take it day by day, game by game and hopefully win series after series. And hopefully find a way and see how far we can make it.”
The Trojans will be on the road once again as they face Greenbrier on Thursday.
