VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A family is planning to move into their new home after waiting two years for it to be built.
After the 350-hours of work, Adam Whitten put in, his home is finally finished.
Whitten said he thinks his time spent volunteering with Habitat for Humanity makes his home that much more special.
“You can sit there and call it your own. You know the lawn’s yours, the walls are yours, everything’s yours. There’s that little bit of worry that now it’s all your responsibility, not some landlord’s," said Whitten.
Whitten said this is his first time owning his own home. He said that he’s excited about his home being energy efficient and he looks forward to an inexpensive power bill.
