VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - SEEDS Business University, the City of Valdosta, the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and the University of Georgia are teaching people about starting their own businesses.
The groups partnered to host a start-up session to give people some guidance about making their dreams a reality.
Josef Copeland, a Valdosta State University student, was just one of many people in attendance. He said he was especially thankful that the seminar was free.
“I’ve thought about going to different seminars and conferences but because of the money situation, I’m a college student that doesn’t have the funds for that. So, it’s very nice that Valdosta’s doing this," said Copeland.
The seminar hit on a number of topics including writing a business plan, record keeping and applying for a business license.
The event is one of many the city has planned in celebration of National Community Development Week.
