COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - Colquitt County High School starts a new chapter on the football field, as the community welcomed their new football coach Tuesday.
“We have to do things that’s better for the organization and better for the team and the team has to be first,” said Rogers.
There is a new sheriff in town--not on the streets, but on the football field.
Colquitt County High School held its meet and greet for their new head football coach Justin Rogers.
He comes in after Rush Propst’s controversial dismissal.
Students, past and present, are waiting to see if Rogers will measure up.
“Well he’s got a high expectation, and he’s got some big shoes to fill, Coach Propst was a great coach and one of the things he’s going to have to come in here and do is maintain the level of football we’ve had over the last 10 or 11 years,” said alumni Robert Belcher.
But many are open to change.
Looking forward to see what new skills Rogers will bring to the team, not only on the field, but off.
“Give him a chance and play the game you love,” said player Jesse Lawson.
“Just be open minded... just be open minded and give him a chance,” added parent Joyce Lawson.
