APD reminds parents not to leave kids in parked cars

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Police Department warns parents not to leave kids in their car, even for just a few minutes.

Corporal Dillard Glover said especially don’t ever leave children in a running car when you run into a store.

He said this makes it easy for people to drive off with your car and your child.

He also said an easy trick to remember your child in the back seat is to leave your purse, or phone back there, too.

“They’re mindset is they get up, get dressed and they go to work. At some point they kind of forget about the child, especially if they child is asleep and they don’t remind you that they’re back there,” said Glover.

Glover said even a few minutes inside a locked, hot car can be deadly.
