Strong-severe storms likely Good Friday

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Variably cloudy with warm mid 80s Thursday afternoon. Clouds thicken through the evening with rain and thunderstorms arriving after midnight. A Severe T’storm Watch is in effect for Stewart, Sumter and Webster Counties until 3:00am. Some storms may be strong to severe with damaging wind gust and isolated tornadoes. Large hail and heavy rain are also likely. Friday is a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY as the severe threat continues into Friday afternoon.

As the squall line of storms pushes east through the afternoon the severe threat ends. However isolated showers and thunderstorms hold into early evening. It’ll be breezy and much cooler as temperatures drop into the 60s.

Drier with a spring chill and abundant sunshine through the holiday weekend. Lows drop into the 40s while highs Saturday rather cool mid 60s. Following a chilly Easter morning mid 40s highs reach mid-upper 70s.

Sunny and warm low 80s into midweek.
