SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -Sylvester residents will soon see a savings on their utility bills, because the Sylvester City Council voted to keep winter rates in their Monday night meeting.
Mayor Bill Yearta says “It’s a pretty significant decrease in most of the categories. It is several cents per kilowatt hour decrease.”
Yearta says he wishes more planning would have gone into the vote, but residents deserve the decrease.
However, he says, city budget cuts could be possible due to this decrease.
Yearta says residents will start seeing the decrease on their May bills.
