CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - A suspect in a Pelham shooting that left two men dead and another injured was indicted Monday by a Mitchell County grand jury, according to District Attorney Joe Mulholland.
Horace Richard “Chucky” Ross III turned himself in the Pelham Police Department in December.
Warrants were issued for Ross’ arrest after Denarrius Johnson, 21, and Steven Freeman, 23, were found dead and another person was injured in a shooting on Cannon Street in Pelham in December 2018.
The indictments state that Ross used a .40 pistol in the shootings.
Ross was wanted on two counts of murder, one count of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Mulholland said that Ross was also indicted by a grand jury on aggravated assault charges for an April 2017 incident in which he is accused of shooting a gun at another man.
