ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Ceres is back to pick up the storm debris in your yard and this time they’re being hired by the City of Albany.
City leaders agreed to hire the Florida company to be on call for the next five years.
This is in addition to finishing the debris pick up where the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers left off.
The city reached out to 34 contractors directly and received 19 responses.
Officials said Ceres received the highest combined score from the evaluation team.
“Well, I hope they come out where we live at because like I said, it’s piled up out there, you know what I’m saying? And then I see some places around here in the area and stuff like that, with vacant trees that fell that need to be cleaned up,” said Albany resident Curtis Kelly.
City leaders estimate Ceres will need to collect between 25 and 30,000 cubic feet of debris.
