LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - Lowndes County and the cities within the county are working on an agreement on who provides what services to the community, and how taxes are gathered.
Lowndes County Commissioner Clay Griner said earlier this week the county sent an amendment for the Service Delivery Strategy to the cities.
He said the ball is now in their court to approve the changes or respond with adjustments.
“Once we get that nailed down, then hopefully can sign a Service Delivery Strategy whole agreement, and get that in place, and be done with it," said Lowndes County Commissioner, Clay Griner.
This adjustment in the agreement comes just days after the city and county officials met to hash out their disagreements.
They agreed on a shorter time frame for responding to water and sewage requests, moving forward.
Griner says they hope they can have an actual agreement in place in the next couple of weeks.
