ASHBURN, GA (WALB) - If you’re out getting a last minute gift for the one you love, make sure you take a walk or drive on the safe side.
Police in Ashburn say most people are creatures of habit when it comes to our daily routine, making it easier for criminals to keep track of our whereabouts.
They advise that you lock your doors when out and about and keep your valuables out of plain sight.
“You go to the store you get out, your keys [are] in the ignition, the window may be down, you may even leave the door open,” said Major Richard Purvis, Ashburn Police Dept. “That’s asking for somebody to do something.”
Police say when you’re out, make sure you take someone with you.
