CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - It was a celebration at Mitchell county High School.
The Eagles had a great year going 8-3, and another two of their seniors are headed off to play college football.
Shawndell Smith signed his letter of intent with Columbus state.
He'll play linebacker for the new football program.
And Jadakiss Harvey earned a scholarship with Benedict college.
He’ll be making a trip close to home to play Albany State in his freshman season.
Both Eagles said that location played a big role in their decisions.
“I got a lot of family up there. It seems like a pretty good football program. They stay together like a family, like home," said Jadakiss Harvey.
“I really had to speak about it with my family and my family mostly agreed. It’s not too far from home, and I didn’t want to leave my momma," said Shawndell Smith.
Head coach Deshon Brock says he expects a couple more signings from this class.
