TIFTON, GA (WALB) - ‘Sock it to me’ took on a new meaning in one Southwest Georgia city Saturday.
Tift County Commissioner Melissa Hughes held the eighth annual ‘Sock It To Em With Love’ sock drive.
Hughes and 30 volunteers passed out bags of socks and tights to children in the community.
She says they celebrated with music, food, and fun. But she’s thankful for the people that helped make this possible.
“We had so many volunteers, this year has been the most volunteers that we have ever ever had,” said Hughes. “I counted about 30 volunteers so that’s amazing all by itself.”
Hughes said she has a storage space so she’s accepting donations for next year.
