TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Tifton city leaders invite you to come and pray for our local, state and national governments on Thursday.
State Representative and Tift County Commissioner Tony McBrayer will speak at the breakfast.
Mayor Julie Smith said McBrayer also leads the Peanut Butter and Jelly Ministry. That ministry feeds hungry children on Saturdays and will be at the breakfast Thursday.
This is the second year the city has hosted the event.
A group of faith-based believers started it.
“We have a wonderful committee here in Tifton,” said Smith. “It’s a group of volunteers called the Tift Area Prayer Group and the idea started last year where we have the mayor’s prayer breakfast. It was actually the idea of one of our local ministers.”
If you want to go, you can buy tickets from the city.
The breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Leroy Rogers Senior Center.
