ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Last week there were multiple major fires in the Albany and Dougherty County areas.
Fire investigators have now told WALB that vagrants caused two of them.
One of the fires happened at a vacant home on Royal Scot Road in West Albany.
The home went up in flames around 3:30 last Thursday morning.
Fire investigator Sam Harris said vagrants started this fire.
The home was a total loss.
Harris said vagrants also caused another fire that happened overnight Jan. 29 and into Jan. 30 at Telfair Avenue and Jewel Street.
The call came in just before 11 p.m. that Tuesday night.
No one was hurt in either house fire.
Investigators have also released the cause of a massive three-alarm fire at an East Albany business.
The Dinner Bell Catering Service office on Clark Avenue went up in flames around 2 a.m. last Friday.
The Albany Fire Department said the cause of that fire was electrical.
