WALB to air special on Albany’s civil rights history

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The footsteps of civil rights leaders have been etched forever on the streets of Albany — permanently marking their place in Albany’s history book.

To commemorate one of the city’s most important chapters, WALB will air an hour-long special on Albany’s civil rights movement.

This special will showcase several parts of Albany’s civil rights history, including the history of the Albany Movement, the importance of music to the Albany Movement, among other aspects of this key time period for the City of Albany.

The special will air on the following dates:

  • Thursday, February 28, 5-6 p.m. on NBC and Bounce 
  • Sunday, March 3, 9-10 a.m. on Bounce 
  • Sunday, March 3, 9:30-10:30 a.m. on NBC. 

Along with this one-hour special, digital exclusive content also will be available on walb.com, including in the “Beyond the Story” section, Roku and Amazon Fire.
