ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you’re a student at Albany Technical College, or looking to further your education, there is exciting news for you.
Albany Tech and Georgia Southwestern State University signed a pathway memorandum of understanding Wednesday morning.
If you are earning your Associate of Science in Nursing, Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting or Associate of Applied Science in Business Healthcare Technology, your credits and degrees will now transfer to GSW, which is a four-year university.
The goal is to help students more easily earn a bachelor’s degree.
“There’s options for you to go back and continue. You don’t have to give up what you’ve already done, you don’t have to re-earn those things. Through this type of partnership, everything you’ve done builds on the next thing you’re going to do, so your credits here transfer and you just build on that when it’s time,” explained GSW President Neal Weaver.
You can take classes through GSW at any point after you earn the degree from Albany Tech.
