‘Go Red’ Luncheon set to address heart disease in women

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Southwest Public Health District is hosting a free informative luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m on Feb. 1 at the Kirkland Center on the campus of Albany Technical College.

The luncheon will discuss women’s risk factors and how to prevent heart disease in women.

"Come wearing a red dress and enjoy a heart healthy light lunch, " said Vamella Lovett, Dougherty County Health Department director.

Southwest Health Director, Dr. Charles Ruis will be the keynote speaker.

Although the event is free, space and food are limited.

Participants are asked to register in advance.

Other sponsors include Albany Technical College, Delta Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Albany Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
