LEE CO., GA (WALB) - A Navy corpsman returned home from deployment today, and decided to give a military surprise to her little brother at his Lee County High School Friday.
“I had no words to describe how happy I was like it was just shock and pure joy,” says Wesley Barton, a ninth grader at Lee County High School.
Those are the words of Wesley Barton, a ninth grader at Lee County High School, after his sister surprised him by dressing up as the school mascot.
“I see the Trojan walking in and I was like I have to take a picture with him. Mrs. Lawrence comes over and tells our table to get a picture with him, so we all get up and are about to take a picture and then the mask comes off and it is like what in the world and it is my sister,” says Wesley.
Wesley’s sister, Madisyn, is a hospital corpsman and had been gone for about five months and he says now that she is back home, he cannot wait to catch up with her and hang out.
“Well we are definitely going to see a movie, the bowling alley, and shopping,” says Wesley.
Madisyn says being away from her family is hard, but she is so thankful that she is able to serve our country every day.
“When communication is tight out on ships, across seas, the best thing to do is to just pray every day for their safety pray for them to come home,” says Madisyn.
Wesley says he is so thankful that his school allowed his sister to surprise him.
“Thank you, Lee County ninth grade, for being able to take my sisters wishes and being able to surprise me and making me the happiest little giddiest boy of the whole entire school," says Wesley.
