TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A church in Tifton is getting ready for a concert that will benefit the community.
The Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Tifton.
Rev. Rudolph Porter with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church said the concert is free but they are asking for donations.
All the donations will be given to students to help pay for their college tuition at Bethune-Cookman University.
“This year, they are going to primarily focus on negro spirituals because it will be Black History Month. All the money goes to the students for scholarships. Last year, we raised $12,000. Every penny was given to the school for the students that night,” said Porter.
Shiloh Missionary Baptist is sponsoring the concert.
The concert will be Feb. 10 at 5 p.m.
