ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With the partial government shutdown continuing into week four, one South Georgia business wanted to show its support for federal workers still on the job unpaid.
The owner of Marco’s Pizza of Albany sent six pizzas to the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Wednesday at lunch to feed the TSA workers.
TSA inspectors have stayed on the job during the shutdown, and missed their paycheck Friday.
The folks at Marco’s Pizza said it was just on their hearts to help during trying times.
“With the government shutdown, we just feel like instead of complaining about it, let’s do something about it. So that’s our motto, instead of complaining, let’s give back to the community. And we are thinking about you even though it’s tough times," said Marco’s General Manager Jerry Brantley.
