Weekend armed robbery suspect in Thomasville police custody

Thomasville Shoe DEPT. Robbery

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomasville Police said an armed robbery suspect was arrested thanks in part to the quick thinking of a shoe store employee.

Officers said Kevarius Wimberly assaulted two Shoe Department employees, while demanding money.

Maj. Wade Glover said there was a third employee inside the store, that hid so she could call 911.

“We quickly responded, we quickly got there," Glover said. “And was able to see a suspect fleeing down the street and across the parking lot from the actual Shoe Department.”

Glover said they set a perimeter and found the suspect minutes later hiding in a storm drain.
