South Georgia man can’t access EEOC complaint because of shutdown

EOCC Complaint

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A Southwest Georgia man says the partial government shutdown is affecting his complaint against a former employer, putting a halt on his plans for a lawsuit.

Joshua Jordan says he filed a complaint with the equal employment opportunity commission or the EEOC back in December.

Jordan has a report number for the complaint but says he can’t log into his account now. When he goes to the website a message pops up saying that the EEOC is closed.

“In a sense I feel like my life is on hold right now, honestly,” said Jordan. “I can’t go on with what I need to do because of this government shutdown.”

As of Friday, we are in day 21 of the partial government shutdown.
